One of the great strengths of PostgreSQL is that it is used by a diverse universe of people. We can make it stronger by highlighting that diversity and growing the visibility of under-represented contributors.
Join Renee Phillips, the founder of New York City's branch of PostgreSQL Women, for a talk that offers an introduction to the tools, sites, and concepts available to aid in working with people from a variety of backgrounds. This talk will include some sociology and global statistics, and addresses the impact of having homogeneous work teams and reasons people flee the workspace due to discomfort.
New York City's branch of PostgreSQL Women regularly hosts inclusive monthly talks and workshops. A version of this talk was presented at pgDay Paris in 2019.
